| Wow, you nailed the "you owe me" dynamic before DH was published! I am amazed! I have been sighing over the build-up of sadness you've got in the past few chapters, Snape wondering if his life would always be a waiting game or assuming he was not good enough when he's fifteen times more qualified than what Slug and Jiggers needs. You nailed that Dumbledore imprisonment thing, too! Too bad I've got to go pick up my kids right now and I don't know when I'll be able to read the next chapter. Keep it under stasis for me! Author's Response: I'll be completely candid here: I've been eagerly anticipating you reaching this particular chapter for a while now. *huge grin* This was indeed one of the chapters that I had been itching to get written AGES before we could get to the moment for it. I knew all along it had to be this way, so when DH came out, this was definitely one of the things I felt "vindicated" about. LOL As for the next chapter, oh, it's not going anywhere, darlin! | I did think that I hadn't read this yet, but evidently I did, because I certainly remember being angry at Dumbledore the last time! Ooh, how aggravating! He really is a manipulative old sod; I understand that he believes he is doing the best thing for his 'son', but to use the words 'you're mine'? Far too evocative for Snape too, I'd imagine. Hopefully Hermione will not be, er, flustered at his intrusion... Author's Response: *snort* I knew this scene was going to happen LONG before I finally got to write it, and long before the last book (where we see just HOW manipulative AD was) came out. Author's Response: I wouldn't go so far as to call it evil, just very pompous and high-handed. | Gads, thatmanipulative, conniving, self-absorbed, arrogrant eye twinkling git! How dare he think Severus OWES him his life-long-suffering-gratitude for WHAT? Being USED throughout the entire war? the last twenty one years? the NERVE of him! Augh! I woudl have thrown it in his face and then spent the day removing hundreds of points from Gryffindor/Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, just to prove my point. Doesn't the dotty old bat know how much Severus HATES teaching? oops, sorry to rant. Love the story! Really! I do!
