| Like Hermione, I also feel happiness just from looking at Snape. :-) Did you have a huge "yes, I THOUGHT so!" after book 7 when JKR revealed that Snape always wanted to be looked at and the deep black tunnels really did lead to everything important? I love that you use the Legilimency here to be a perfect magical equivalent to the moment in relationships when people ask each other to tell the truth, promising implicitly to believe them! Because they finally know to trust the veracity of the emotions! I never saw anyone use Legilimency that way before! Knowing that you HAVE to believe what you see there (assuming the person being read is not an Occlumens), promising a good-faith interpretation to the beloved! Wow, wow, wow. I also have to say I am relieved that, unlike so many SSHG fics, you don't have Dumbledore watching knowingly as all this emotion passes between them in the Great Hall. It feels much better without! Poor Snape and Hermione really don't stand a chance against the emotions that sweep through them while performing this show, do they?! You are really showing how actors are buffeted by their chosen profession. | Ah...sweet relief on my part. After seeing this fic is 72 chapters and long and still not finished, I was wary to begin. Once I did I was nervous that any SSHG love wouldn't take place until at least the halfway point. I'm glad to have been mistaken.

| It came as a welcome relief to find HP making a mild effort of civility towards HG at the end of this chapter; it allowed a small release of the pounding tension that you have created over the past couple of chapters. | Ok, I'm on my third read through. This story is in my blood. It is sooo romantic with just enough spice. Did Severus realize how ironic that last thought of his is in this chapter? Ok, so maybe I'm a little slow to catch everything the first two times I read but, hey, the mark of a great story is one where you find something new everytime you read it. Although I anxiously await the next time (pant...pant), I understand that quality takes time. Bless you! | Yay! It's starting to knit together; he knows she fancies him, and he's letting her know it's mutual! Wonderful chapter, I don't even mind that it's short! (Ginny Weasley for saint, BTW!)
