Poor Sirius! He only had Buckbeak.  I suspect, though, that some people will just use this to justify Lupin/Sirius or even Snape/Sirius as almost canon. Poor Tonks. . . Ah well, she never really had a chance.

| Well technically, she's referring to the time before he was made Harry's godfather, and he went to Azkaban shortly after. One can hope that at least Snuffles got lucky while he was hiding out between PoA and OoTP :*) |

Remember the penseive scene from OOTP? They were sitting in the classroom during finals and that girl "looked hopefully" at Sirius? I'm sure he was a hot commodity at Hogwarts during his day.......  |

| Just because Sirius didn't have a girlfriend certainly doesn't mean he wasn't getting TONS of booty for the afore mentioned reasons. And face it he's a hot young guy, why would he want a girlfriend? |

So he could have been the male version of Ginny Weasley. My apologies to any GW fans who are reading; it was just an observation.
Keep in mind the way things were at the time. Harry's christening/baptism was probably a hurried, secret event, and you do only need one godparent as a witness. They may not have had time to choose a godmother. Lily's friendships outside of James and Co. are never mentioned.
Just another loose end Rowling will need to tie up!  |
