My first ever attempt at SS/HG is started on Ashwinder.
Title: Mistakes Men Make
Summary: Professor Snape finds Hermione letting Ron 'borrow' her homework, and assigns her detention, but in a fit of pity, decides to give her a chance to redeem herself. When he sends her a note telling her to be prepared to convince him to allow her to make up the assignment, one has to ask if the words she read and the ones he wrote were the same.
Chapter 1: Miscommunication
A lack of effective communication sets the stage.

I'm watching the topic! What an opening chapter! I read it earlier today. What a miscommunication!!! Poor Hermione...Poor Snape for that matter, I'm picturing all sorts of awkwardness ensuing. Hope updates are quick in coming, that was a terrible cliffhanger to start a story with! Evil Author! Evil Author! |

I really enjoyed your first chapter, Razzberry. I left a review at Ashwinder, and I think it may have led you to think I didn't like the story ... au contraire! I'm definitely looking forward to your update. |

Thank you both for your comments. I am going to ask, though, that we keep this thread clear of conversation since I'm urging people to 'watch the topic' for updates. I don't want everyone inundated with emails

Chapter 2-- "Haste" is posted on Ashwinder.

edit: the email alert DOES work! It just doesn't send me a message when I post, presumably because the board is smart and knows I'm the one who posted. |

| Posting a reply *after* I began watching this topic, just to see if it is, indeed, not working. Excellent, marvelous story, BTW. |

And Chapter Three: Presumption is posted.
In this episode, we find splotches of humor (at least the early reviews have a lot of 'lol' going on) and moments of tenderness.
And this email thing IS working, so clickity-click!!
Thank you all for reading and reviewing!

Maybe this should be called "Mistakes 18 year old girls make"? I'm enjoying this a lot, although the humiliation on both their parts makes me squirm.
I wonder if he will ever get up the nerve to talk to her and beg her to tell her side of the story? She's the only one who can save him.

Thanks to everyone who is following the story! I'm enthralled that people actually read.

Mistakes Men Make has been updated on Ashwinder.
Summary: Professor Snape finds Hermione letting Ron 'borrow' her homework,
and assigns her detention, but in a fit of pity, decides to give her a
chance to redeem herself. When he sends her a note telling her to be
prepared to convince him to allow her to make up the assignment, one has
to ask if the words she read and the ones he wrote were the same.
Chapter 5: Gossip
In which... eh, read the title and guess what happens
http://ashwinder.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=8574
Teaser:
“So last night, Hermione had a detention with him, left his office crying, was gone all night long and no one has seen either of them today. Hrm. I wonder if that’s a coincidence.” Padma uncapped her ink and peered at her book; Anthony and Lisa stared wide-eyed at her.
“What are you suggesting?” Lisa demanded.
“I’m not suggesting anything,” Padma replied. “Did anyone get the answer to number three? I spent half an hour looking for that this morning…”
~*~*~*~*~*~
And, I've been asked by a few people what else I've written.
Razz on Occlumency:
http://ashwinder.sycophanthex.com/viewuser.php?uid=2035
(careful, there's a trilogy in there. Still Waters Run Deep/Bittersweet/Tomorrow We May Die. In that order.)
My story on Wolfsbane:
http://wolfsbane.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1164
(Spurs from the trilogy mentioned above, but exists independently-- if you can accept the characters as they stand after 300,00 words of development, you probably won't have a problem with it)
And on FF.Net--
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2028854/1/
A position of Power-- a non-ship story that still dances in my head but unfortunately takes a backburner to everything else that usurps my attention.

Chapter 6-- Mistrust is up!
I just don't understand how everyone else in the world always seems to find out when this is posted before I do...
In this chapter, we speculate whether or not Dumbledore is insane.
Teaser:
“Dear Severus,” she said breathily, wisping into the room as though she were a bespangled and be-sequined puff of smoke. She placed her spidery hands on his cheeks, fingers splayed, and tilted his face upward, looking into his eyes with a mix of pity and morbid interest. “Your eyes hold the depth of a freshly dug grave,” she whispered, even her whisper trembling. “The eyes are the window to the soul, and yours are draped in the shroud of mourning. Not even a flicker…” |
