Although I think Evil!Harry would be interesting... heh heh...
That would be fun! I don't think I've ever seen an Evil!Harry fic. Has anyone? Can you point me to it?
Well, there's a near-evil-harry in Azazello's HG/SS story "But You Alone". It's on Ashwinder. You should take a look. :] Yes, evil-harry is still fuelled by Snape-hate in the story...it is, after all, an HG/SS story. EDIT: Wait, nevermind. You've read that one. Sorry. You didn't consider him an evil!harry??
I was surprised by harry's overuse of the unforgivables, too..it's like they're the only things he knows. I just passed it off as JKR trying to make it easy on herself in the next book when she has to show us Harry has actually learned his lessons, and uses ... I don't know, the tickling curse to kill Voldemort. |

Quote: But in HBP, we see Harry cast an unknown spell (for enemies, according to its crytic footnote) at Draco.
That part totally terrified me. I couldn't believe that Harry would be that irresponsible, throwing around unknown curses. Seriously, what if it were some modified version of the killing curse? How could he have known otherwise before hand?
Sure, he and malfoy have been at odds for a long time.. and sure Malfoy was about to Crucio him... but Harry of all people should have known that Malfoy probably wouldn't have been able to cast it properly. And it saddens me (and scares me) that Harry cares that little about another human life, just cause Draco has been snotty over the years.
It also scared me how quickly that spell jumped to his mind, like a reflex. He's beginning to be a bit obsessive about these Dark spells he finds, isnt he? |

Actually, I haven't read that one. I had a look at the chapter summaries, and adultery doesn't appeal to me as a major story element, so I'll take a pass.
Anything else? Perhaps even something humorous with an evil!Harry?

There's a huge page of gen recs for Harry at http://www.geocities.com/tapairuparauri/characters/harrygen.html - Jetamor, who runs the site, has a very impressive listing of gen stories by various subjects and so forth - I don't love every single story she recommends but I would say I end up liking well over 80 percent of them. I don't know if she's listed any evil!Harry but it would be worth checking. And I put two of my own recs below.
If you want humorous, check out Lightning Has Just Struck My Brain which is ... well, it's short and you just have to read it. It's completely non-canon now, of course ... but it's amusing.
While not an evil!Harry, greengecko's Resonance (now non-canon) is a great piece of completed work that looks at the idea of how Harry would handle the aftermath of defending Voldemort and his, for lack of a better word, potential for evil (one of many themes that runs through it). It is, though, a Snape adopts Harry fic (no slash, no sudden biological connection), but it works wonderfully. She makes a very strange situation believable and both characters surprisingly IC.
The way I see it: if I can like HG/SS ... Snape adopting Harry doesn't have to be that far off either.
Cheers,

Hmm... someone with Latin knowledge... Sectumsempra reminded me a lot or Rictusempra (sorry my spelling is off... I'm in a Tim Hortons, hehe).
What do these mean? I know JK changes things sometimes, but maybe there's some relationship between them... |

Rictusempra is the tickling charm.
Sectum is to cut, hurt, wound, amputate, divide, part.
Sempra is always |

The 'sempra' part means 'always.' 'Rictu' is related to smiling or grinning. 'Sectum' refers to cutting--think 'dissect.' So Sectumsempra would be something like 'always cut.' Which is certainly what the spell seems to do.
Somehow I think that the students at Hogwarts would benefit from some good old-fashioned Latin lessons. Gotta wonder why that's not part of the curriculum. On the other hand, they may not want students coming up with their own spells this way.
Regardless, Harry was extremely dumb and irresponsible to try a spell that he didn't know the action of, especially on another person. I mean, a person could booby-trap their book with a spell that blows up the caster, couldn't they? Hey, try this one!

| Slight difference there, lol, but it's relatively easy to see how one would take something like Sempra and apply the effect they wanted. Obviously this takes a fair amount of skill and intelligence, but it's not impossible. |
