But I can see it now. Will Emily expess her concerns about Quirell to Dumbledore? And I can't wait for first year potions class. Author's Response: The whole plot bunny behind this story was "What if Snape had someone sympathetic he comes home to every night?" Yes, he's a little bit different in some ways, but a lot of our scariest school teachers, including the guy who supposedly inspired the character, are "normal people" with their loved ones. On Emily and Quirrell, she doesn't have anything to tell Dumbledore right now. WE know, from canon, what's going on with him, but Emily has no idea yet where exactly the voice came from and the evidence is strong that it couldn't be from him.
