Reviews for Two Sides Against the Middle

I've used my spare time this weekend to catch up on your story. I've really enjoyed it. I find it amazing that you could change something so big, like giving Snape a family, and still make it fit into the framework of the books. But you have. This works.

Author's Response: Wow, I really appreciate that you've spent all that time on my story. I'm glad it works. Thank you for the review!

Beautifully done... and yes, it makes me sad to see the open animosity Emily has to cope with simply because no one may know the truth just yet. Seeing how many painful details you simply changed into something much more positive, I allow myself the hope that Snape might - just MIGHT - survive the Shrieking Shack. (One may hope, at least.*smiles*)

Author's Response: Thank you again. Yes, the whole family has to deal with odd animosities from former friends throughout this year. It's hard on Snape, of course, and it ripples out to his family as well. I must admit that much of this story has been written with an eye toward what might happen in the Shrieking Shack. At the very worst, at least he doesn't leave his life unmourned and unloved. At best, well, the options are limitless...

I know it's hard for everyone to treat Emily nicely, but my heart just goes out to her with all that she has to put up with alongside having to deal with the horror of Severus possibly being killed at any minute.

Author's Response: The little (and not so little) squabbles) between people who should be friends are another sad effect of wars like this one. It is hard on Emily, for sure, but she doesn't have to deal with the teachers of the school so directly as her husband does.
