Reviews for A Hogwarts Carol

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 02:42PM 7: Epilogue Signed
Oh! Tricksie, tricksie people! I did NOT see that coming!

Author's Response: Well, we had to have at least one surprise in there...

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 02:39PM 6: STAVE V: The End of It Signed
What wonderful ways to make good use of the time he was given! I don't sense that he was truly happy, but he certainly sounds content.

Author's Response: And contentment for Snape is like happiness for most others.

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 02:31PM 5: STAVE IV: The Last of the Spirits Signed
That was well brought to the apex of the story. It is, indeed, time for him to remember.

Author's Response: *nods* Painful realization...

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 02:23PM 4: STAVE III: The Second of the Three Spirits Signed
Wow. That's great use of Ignorance and Want. Severus doesn't see how much he still suffers from both at this point.

Author's Response: Yes, at this point he's still in denial.

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 02:15PM 3: STAVE II: The First of the Three Spirits Signed
He starts this chapter more remorseful than he ends it, I think. Early memories bring up pain and he feels guilt over the way his choices affected some of those memories. Remembering the way he has to deal with Arthur raises feelings of annoyance. The way her hat drops to the floor as she disapears gave me the image of a candle being snuffed. His remorse came right back after that, didn't it?

Author's Response: Yes, he's still in the process of learning what he'd been doing wrong all his life.

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 02:02PM 2: STAVE I: Albus Dumbledore's Ghost Signed
Three things really struck me. The first was the chain. It is a moving mental picture in the Dickens and it is here, too. The results of our wrongdoing bind us in horrible ways, no matter what we think we may get out of it. The second was the image of the abandoned post. That final choice _was_ as much one to abandon the situation as to help it. The last was that after he was rebuffed he should have looked further. Good point.

Author's Response: It's what we're taught all our lives, that we have to prioritize and keep things in perspective. Snape's focus was too narrow, and he has to be shown why that's not good.

Rose of the West 2009.11.05 - 01:52PM 1: Prologue Signed
Just the title draws up images and it starts brilliantly. Now to see how the rest follows...

Author's Response: I must admit, the only reason I wrote this now is because I couldn't deal with another season of this particular muse poking me. It's not my best work, but I had to exorcise the demons.

Scaranda 2009.11.05 - 09:16AM 1: Prologue Signed
Lovely. Looking forward to sitting back and enjoying the rest of what I suspect will be 'a very fine goose indeed'.

Author's Response: Thank you. I just hope it does not disappoint.
