I just have this feeling this won't end well. Maybe that's what you intend me to feel? I like the fact he did chose a gift for her that took some thought and effort from him. Author's Response: I think you've got exactly the right sense of what's going on, here. She's got the typical teen girl hearts and flowers expectations while he's got his own agenda. Neither has the guts or whatever to say what's on their mind, so there's bound to be a major problem when push comes to shove. Author's Response: He could be happy if he let himself, but he doesn't trust that it could be so easy and it's not quite what he thinks he wants. He's still just a boy in a lot of ways, though.
