I like it so far but it could use some brit-picking. British only use the word 'ma'am' to address royalty. Snape would have called his new companion 'madam'.
Author's Response: Alas, I'm sure there are many errors of that sort. This was one of the first things I wrote, long ago, when I'd barely heard of betas, let alone brit-pickers. I'm glad you like it anyway, and thanks for much for commenting! |

I just love this story - it has a bit of everything! I so like your Severus, you make him really believable. It is really well crafted and imaginative writing. I'm afraid I couldn't stop reading it! Well done! More please!!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad it has held up to time. Almost four years - yikes! |

Overall, excellent, though I don't recall specific mention of Lucius as a pike adornment.
A very human characterization of Severus, certainly without making him into something sappy. Well done.
Thank you.
Author's Response: Thank you! This was written so long ago, and has been soooo canon shafted.... Ah, well, it was fun, and how I saw Snape at the time. (I still rather like this version over JKR's, but don't tell anyone!) |

Gutting him and putting his head on a pike - I get visions of Vir Cotto, but with Mr. Morden's practicality, given Severus's lack of Vir's less dangerous characteristics.
Now... does Severus have a place to display said head as a warning?
Author's Response: I think he'd put it somewhere rather public, don't you? Outside Malfoy Manor, perhaps? |

Disturbingly realistic. Well done, particularly with the interactions between Nymphadora, Lillith, and Severus.
Author's Response: Thank you! I love the three of them; they are such fun to write together - even the hard parts. |

"... nor do I want spend my life with a man who can sour the milk on my cereal with his ‘Good Morning.’”
:-)))))) Just GREAT!
Author's Response: Thanks! Tonks has a pretty clear idea of what she wants, and it isn't just sex. We should all be so level-headed. :) |

I read "A Wizard's Tale" and loved it. So I immediately went on with this one - and again I love it. Must be you. ;-) And the reading your "review conversations" is an extra treat! ;-)
Author's Response: Aw, thanks. "Conversations" with reviewers are the best part for me. I just wish I had realized I could respond sooner! *was never good with the fine print* |
