Reviews for Two Sides Against the Middle

Ah, Skeeter... I really think Margo should come up with some lies to post about her. Maybe she can uncover some 'dirt' as an Auror. That evil woman has a way of twisting everything to seem... as Hope put it, lurid. Glad the happy couple was out of the country for most of the dirt.

Author's Response: I love Rita... that's a serious plot bunny, for someone to dig up Rita's realities and put some assumptions on it. We know about the unregistered Animagus part... I don't know how the family would have responded to the story if they had been around to see it...or the howlers that would have come their way because of those stories. Thank you for the reviews!

Oh, bless Hannah! She obviously has more brain that Neville will ever have... he has heart enough, that's for sure, but his endless inability to decide on anything wore me out. And that Skeeter article... oh, I have no words. Just what she would have written, isn't it? Well done, and an enormously enjoyable read. Thank you! Cúthalion

Author's Response: Thank you! What Rita writes is true enough, but she assumes the most outrageous motives for everything. I've written one or two other things with her voice and it's far more fun than it should be. If Neville could have asked Hope to explain everything, like she did for him at Hogwarts, it would have been so much easier, wouldn't it?

Good solution for Severus, and I like the thought that Margo and Harry develop what could be called a kind of easy camaraderie... but now I wantr to kick Neville so badly that I could SPIT. Dunderhead indeed. *fumes* Aside from that - fine chapter! Cúthalion

Author's Response: Even a hero will have his dunderhead moments. There was only so long Hope was going to meekly allow him to treat her that way. It was time to finally say something. Thank you!

So glad to see the Ministry choosing the right and exhonerating Severus. (You always have to worry with them, whether Shacklebolt's the Minister or not.) I too hope that the horrors can fade to the background and they can live happily.

Author's Response: Thank you! It can be a bit of a craps shoot with the Ministry, can't it? Now they can worry about something "easy," like helping their teenaged daughter work her way into adult life, LOL!

Wonder how Snape would feel about about Margo and Harry?

Author's Response: I pondered that match... I'm sure Snape would be furious, although whether it would be over the concept of Margo/Harry or over what Ginny would do to Margo, I'm not sure. The funny thing is that in a Voldemort-less world, Harry and Margo would have known each other a lot more, due to the natural course of their mothers working together. Thank you for asking.

Glad that they're both recovered. Well, getting there. I was a bit worried about Emily in the beginning. How long will the Ministry take to drop charges on Severus? Geez!

Author's Response: The Ministry needs to check things out thoroughly, of course. Once they have Severus figured out they can use him as the lynchpin of a lot of other cases. The adults won't be as easy to convince as Harry. They've known and seen the Snapes all along and both have been a bit cagey of late. Thank you for the reviews!

I love how Emily fights for "her" Severus, defending him with teeth and claws against anyone from the Ministry... and the encounter in the secret room at the end of the chapter was very sweet. (Any chance to give Neville a kick in the right direction...?) Cúthalion

Author's Response: Thank you! Emily has one agenda, of course, and she's in full battle mode, now. Neville will need to work through things at his own pace, but Hope will find a way to pass the time...

Aha so Harry knows the truth now. It was about time. I only think that Rita wil be terribly disappointed. The "pensieve version" was so much cheesier, you know. *grins* (And Sirius really made me happy in this chapter.) Thank you! Cúthalion

Author's Response: It irritates me how much Harry was kept in the dark on things that really weren't secrets, along with the things that were. It's a mercy he didn't step off the side of a cliff at some point. I wanted to give Sirius a chance to make some sort of effort toward improving on the past. Even Peter gets a chance to do one good thing in the canon. Thank you for your kind review!

I liked the way Severus explained everything while holding Hope's hand. And Emily's talk with Harry was sweet too.

Author's Response: Thank you! I think Severus understood how important it was for Hope to know what he was really thinking and feeling. Harry's parents actually lived and did things and were surrounded by other people. He should get a chance to learn more about what they were really like.

Emily's interaction with Harry is wonderful. It seems fitting that she should get to establish that Voldemort is truly gone.

Author's Response: Thank you! Since it was Emily who looked at Harry the first time, she was the one who would know what to look for, now. I don't like how poor Harry lives in a vacuum in canon. He should get to hear about his family from those who saw them from time to time.
