Reviews for Two Sides Against the Middle

Of course, Emily is there to help Severus not be quite so bitter about Harry. She's really good for him. Of course, she can't make him love Harry, now can she?

Author's Response: That would be pushing it a bit too far, I think! I don't think he can ever really like Harry, and the kid still represents some bitter disappointment and memories for him.

I have to admit I was a little curious as to how well a married Snape would fit into the story once you entered the timeline of the books. But I can see it now. Will Emily expess her concerns about Quirell to Dumbledore? And I can't wait for first year potions class.

Author's Response: The whole plot bunny behind this story was "What if Snape had someone sympathetic he comes home to every night?" Yes, he's a little bit different in some ways, but a lot of our scariest school teachers, including the guy who supposedly inspired the character, are "normal people" with their loved ones. On Emily and Quirrell, she doesn't have anything to tell Dumbledore right now. WE know, from canon, what's going on with him, but Emily has no idea yet where exactly the voice came from and the evidence is strong that it couldn't be from him.

Was Emily's wish to have another child? I can see her wanting that. And as for makaem's vote for Ravenclaw for Hope, I think it would be hilarious if she were in Gryffindor. Well, at least hilarious to see Severus' reaction, as he wishes the entire house were banished from Hogwarts entirely.

Author's Response: Yes, Emily wants more children. They just won't come, though. I can't speak for which house Hope sorts to, but you will find out soon! Thanks for the reveiws, today!

I can't wait for her sorting. I'm guessing Ravenclaw.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review! I'm not telling, yet, where she gets sorted. You will find out when her mother does. ;)

I was finally able to sit down and check what you posted in this chapter. I like the tiny tweaks you made and I think what you did with my suggestion was just right. I can't imagine being married and not experiencing those times when your body takes over your brain like that. Some switch just clicks and your body goes into turbo drive and the sex is always so memorably satisfying you want more, just like makeup sex. Now I think I'd better go inventory his supply of the little blue pill, he's going to need it.

Author's Response: Thank you. I am so blushing! Probably because I agree.

It's always nice to see Severus Snape on the dance floor, especially with someone he's so in love with.

Author's Response: Thanks. I totally agree!

This so wonderful. I love every aspect of this story.

Author's Response: Thank you. You are very kind.

That was just lovely. You conveyed the sadness of their baby-loss and those who were died or irreparably hurt in the war very well. It just dawned on me that Hope will be a student with Harry and the gang. That should make for some interesting situations.

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, Hope is just a few months older than Harry (and Draco), and younger than Ron and Hermione. I didn't want Emily to come back home and now everything is fine. Life just doesn't work that way.

Everyone forgets about the Longbottoms. Poor things. At least Emily was able to relieve some of their suffering. It will be interesting to see everyone's reactions when the truth about Pettigrew comes out.

Author's Response: When the truth comes out...Twelve years from this point in the story! There are so many questions about Peter. How did he go from being the sort of person his friends would die for to what he became? I love the Longbottoms, and Neville, who was certainly their child in every way imaginable. Thanks for the review!

I like that Severus realizes her ability to forgive and love is what makes it possible for them to have a life. Hopefully he'll continue to remember it. You've done an excellent job working the story into the framework of the past as told in the books.

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you like the way my story fits in. I hope it continues to do so.
