The best thing about this chapter - the best things, actually -are the two letters you made father and daughter write. Especially the last one makes me want to comfort Margo - poor thing, hiding those moving, little messages in a trunk instead of being able to deliver them! Well done, am eagerly awaiting the next installment! Cúthalion
Author's Response: Thank you! It's so tough to go to the school your parent teaches at even if they aren't fighting in the middle of a war. Kids are less likely to trust you as a friend to begin with. I keep hoping that some day she'll be able to give him those notes. |

Beautifully done... and yes, it makes me sad to see the open animosity Emily has to cope with simply because no one may know the truth just yet. Seeing how many painful details you simply changed into something much more positive, I allow myself the hope that Snape might - just MIGHT - survive the Shrieking Shack. (One may hope, at least.*smiles*)
Author's Response: Thank you again. Yes, the whole family has to deal with odd animosities from former friends throughout this year. It's hard on Snape, of course, and it ripples out to his family as well. I must admit that much of this story has been written with an eye toward what might happen in the Shrieking Shack. At the very worst, at least he doesn't leave his life unmourned and unloved. At best, well, the options are limitless... |

You know, I've been reading this for several weeks now, and I must say you slowly pulled me into Emily's world. There are so many things I like about this story - those delightful letters between Margo and Neville, that you managed to save Sirius, and I love the idea that the Dark Mark on Snape's arm was somewhat "faux". I'm sorry that I didn't comment earlier, but I'm really waiting eagerly for each new chapter, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Cúthalion
Author's Response: Thank you very much. That's high praise from someone whose story I have likewise enjoyed. I appreciate that you have read this and taken the time to review. |

I know it's hard for everyone to treat Emily nicely, but my heart just goes out to her with all that she has to put up with alongside having to deal with the horror of Severus possibly being killed at any minute.
Author's Response: The little (and not so little) squabbles) between people who should be friends are another sad effect of wars like this one. It is hard on Emily, for sure, but she doesn't have to deal with the teachers of the school so directly as her husband does. |

You can't blame Severus for freaking out. Emily's points are good ones, but those Carrows are close to being insane. Hopefully, they stay happy throwing Unforgivables at the kids. My canon calendar isn't very precise, but isn't May around the time that the final battle occurs? Are you going to have Emily giving birth while Severus lays dying on the Shack floor? I'm hoping not!
Author's Response: Hmmm...May 2, according to the Lexicon (evil grin). I won't comment on that point, but this baby is the one of the oldest parts of the story, in terms of when bits of the plot came to me. A lot of things have changed, especially since Emily took me for a ride in her seventh year, but that has not. The real stress between Emily and Severus is that he feels that she's in more danger around him because he knows that he's in danger, while she feels he will be safer if she can keep an eye on him. |

I was wondering if Emily would get pregnant again. I'm glad their family is expanding.
It's really nice to see this end of what happened and how Severus acted. He's walking such a fine line. One slip up, and his cover will be blown.
Author's Response: Thank you! It's a fine line. Do you say, life stinks too much now, or we need to take our chances when we get them because we may not get another chance? Both options are reasonable, I think. Plus, a Severus Snape who is confident in his "master's" victory will live his life in anticipation of that victory. |

Dolores is a bit paranoid. Funny. I liked her made up story about Harry.
Author's Response: The name Dolores refers to sorrow, and she certainly spreads that around. I love how she's paranoid but also so self-absorbed. In her mind, everything is about her. |

Lovely wedding celebration. The return to the Astronomy tower was quite heartbreaking. I'm sure he did something like this when he got to Hogwarts.
Author's Response: Thank you. We know that Umbridge was somehow shut out of the office, so it was important to me to figure out how or why he might have been accepted. |

So little time to just... be. Now he's off to more scary stuff. At least he'll be headmaster soon and Emily and he will be able to live openly as they hoped.
Author's Response: They really do need to snatch their moments. And yes, once the school year starts, things will be different, but they don't know that, yet. Thank you for the reviews! |

Of course, Narcissa is protecting herself, but her actions are a bit hard to take.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm thinking Desperate Housewives when it comes to Narcissa. Plus, when it comes to it, Harry isn't the only young man in the story who was saved by his mother's love. |
